Tidal Diamond 350 – Cruiser Recovery

Tidal Diamond No. 350

Cruiser Recovery

Despite the best efforts of our team, we have serious problems with the tractor hydraulics. Consequently we have to postpone the Cruiser recovery until next weekend. In view of the predicted storm on Monday, we will be running a water taxi service for those that wish to check and secure their boats; this will run from 10:00 to 15:00 tomorrow (Saturday). Lunches will be served on Saturday as normal for a Cruiser recovery, please come along.

Richard Gunn
Commodore

Tidal Diamond 349 – Cruiser Recovery, Storage of Tenders

Tidal Diamond No. 349

Cruiser Recovery Weekend

Due to the strong winds expected over the weekend, to reduce windage, all skippers should lower their sprayhoods before entering the hoist and leave them lowered until after Monday’s predicted storm. It is also recommended that furling genoas are secured with a tie tied around the sail through the clew.

Richard Gunn, Commodore and George Thomson, Bosun

STORAGE OF TENDERS – CORRECTION

It has been bought to the attention of the Executive Committee that the charging policy for the storage of tenders, in accordance with Byelaws, was voted on and agreed at the 2011 AGM. Based on this, it was wrong to change the charging policy without first putting it to the membership.

Currently all those with tenders have been invoiced for winter storage space. If you choose to take your tender home or store it underneath your boat and can do so to the satisfaction of the Bosuns, you can present your invoice to the Bosun, who will advise the Hon Secretary to alter the database accordingly and you will not be expected to pay that element of the invoice.

Apologies for any confusion this may have caused and thanks to those who rightfully pointed out the error.

George Thomson, Bosun

RNSA(P) Autumn Series Race 9 (PPH Results)

The PPH results are at the link below For PPH follow the link

RNSA(P) Autumn Series Race 9

With two boats in contention for the IRC Autumn series top spot the grande finale almost never took place as 32 knot winds battered Stokes Bay at 1400. However the Met office, guessing right for a change seemed confident that the winds would abate in the late afternoon and the final race of the Autumn series remained on.

Cancelled – 2013 Inter-Services Windsurfing Championships 26-27 Oct 13

The 2013 Inter-Services Windsurfing Championships have been Cancelled due to area conflictions in Portland Harbour After consulting the Army and RAF leads it has regretfully been decided to postpone the 2013 Inter-Services until early spring 2014. The current revised date of 2 / 3 Nov makes it very likely that at least 2 teams competing would be significantly short and it was agreed that this was sufficient cause to opt for a revised date.
