Tudor Sailing Club Bar

Dear Members

Firstly I would like to start by wishing you and all you family a Happy and Prosperous New Year.

Can I please ask if anyone has any maintenance to do for last year I have bar duties for February. If you are not trained I can train you. It is relatively painless.

If you would like to join the bar rota or would like to be trained to open the bar please contact me and we can arrange training.

If you are already on the bar duty rota and have not replied to me about this years maintenance can you please contact me to let me know if you still want to be part of the Tudor Bar Team. I want to get the duties posted by the 1st February so people can plan for the coming sailing season.

If you would like to be placed on the Bar Function list please let me know. This is a list of people we will contact when there is a private function. This will earn you £40 a function. You do not have to be part of the bar rota but you do have to be trained and a member.

If you have any questions please contact me: wilsontranter or 02392 381962 after 17.00 please.

I would like to end this e mail by thanking again the members who open the bar for our pleasure and especially the ones who put their hand up when special events take place. Without them the bar will be closed and we would go thirsty.

Many Thanks

Mark Tranter
Still Bar Manager

First Aid Courses

The Sailing Committee are planning to run a registered RYA certificated First Aid course at the club. The course lasts around 5 hours and at the end, if you are successful, you will be issued an RYA registered first aid certificate. The cost is £250 per course and the instructor can take a maximum of 13 candidates. The final price to the individuals will depend on the amount of interest it generates. 10 delegates works out at £25 a head, with the price increasing or decreasing slightly depending on numbers. If we have large numbers showing an interest the instructor can run additional dates. The course would really be beneficial for any members who carry out patrol boat duties, it also serves as the recognized first aid certificate for the majority of formal RYA courses.

The provisional date is Saturday the 1st of February with a 0900 hours start time. Further dates in February can be booked if required.

If you are interested in booking a place on this course please can you send me an email with your contact details to andy.healey

Tidal Diamond 365 – AGM, Galley Volunteers, Duty Logs

Tidal Diamond No. 365

AGM

Just a reminder that the Tudor S.C. Annual General Meeting is this Sunday at 14:00.

During the meeting, I will be giving a short presentation on three developments, which are currently in the planning stage, which are in close proximity to the club.

Commodore

February Galley : Volunteers required please

If you would like to volunteer for any Sunday galley duties please let me know.

At the moment there are no volunteers for any of the Sundays in February and if this remains the case the galley will not be able to open.

Perhaps you need some extra maintenance hours for this year, we can provide galley training on request. You could then be galley trained for 2014/2015 maintenance duties as well.

Or, are you an existing galley trained member and would be generous enough to offer to cover just one additional Sunday?

Or perhaps you don’t actually need to do any maintenance and would like to volunteer to help out?

Please contact me or Sarah Bryant or Moira Barber by email if you can assist.

NB I will be out of the country from 11-20th January so please contact Sarah or Moira in my absence.

Maintenance Duty Logs

Would those members who have completed General Maintenance Duties and not yet given me their duty log, please do so as soon as possible.

Unless I get confirmation of the duties you have carried out, your renewal invoice will include the £255.00 maintenance levy. Having to amend the paperwork is frustrating and may cause some delay with your renewal.

Either place in my mail box at the clubhouse, scan and email (maureenclark.tsc), or post to my home address 21 Maple Crescent, Clanfield, PO8 0LP

Members who are on committee rotas (sailing, bar or galley) need not send a duty log to me as the relevant committee lead provide me with a list of duties completed.

Many thanks

Honorary Secretary

Tidal Diamond 364 – Security, Maintenance, Icicle Series

Tidal Diamond No. 364

Club Security

We have had reports from a member of the gate in front of the clubhouse door being found unlocked early in the morning a couple of weeks ago and also the slipway gate being unlocked early in the morning last week.

May I remind ALL members that security is YOUR responsibility, YOU have to lock the gates after you, if in doubt lock it; there is no magic security man to lock up after you and it may be your boat that gets stolen next.

Maintenance Duty Logs

Would those members who have completed General Maintenance Duties, mainly organised by the Maintenance Officer, please let me have a signed Duty Log by Saturday January 4th.

This is needed for the database to be updated prior to raising renewal invoices so the sooner I get it the better.

Either place in my mail box at the clubhouse, scan and email (maureenclark.tsc), or post to my home address 21 Maple Crescent, Clanfield, PO8 0LP

Icicle Series back on track!

GOOD NEWS FOR WINTER DINGHY SAILORS. The dearth of volunteers needed to run the Icicle Series has been turned around. We now have a full complement of Race Officers & PBC to stage not just 5 but all 6 races. Huge thanks to all those of you who have sacrificed other things to fill these vacant duty slots.
