RNSA(P) Early Summer Series Race 4

A perfect evening for racing It was a perfect evening for racing when the fleet assembled at Gilkicker on Wednesday. A relatively short course was set to Bob Kemp, North Sturbridge and return in consideration of possible wind fade. As it turned out we could have sailed the course twice around. In the first start Widgeon (Nick Fletcher) were off to a flying start rounded the gate mark , set their spinnaker and were never headed on the water.

Tidal Diamond No. 329

Club Patrol boat users

Following the recent increase in propeller damage to the Club Rib the Sailing Committee would like to advise all crews of the club patrol boats that there has been a change in the manor in which the boats are to be recovered. The boats are to be driven to the side of the slipway and the engine stopped and the crew are to get out and then guide the boat onto the trolley. This is to stop the boats from being driven over the slipway.

After recovery, each engine should be run through with fresh water. The recent problems with the Rib engine were compounded by the state of the cooling system. In an attempt to ensure the longevity of all the club engines we are reminding everyone who uses the boats that this needs to be done.

Thank you everyone for your co operation

Mark Webb
Sailing Committee member.

RNSA Thames Valley Branch – Boat Bimble Event at Medmenham Fields

Saturday 15 June 2013. The Boat Bimble to Cliveden Reach last September proved a very successful day out and it was suggested at the Branch AGM last November that a similar event, based elsewhere on the river, might prove similarly popular. Ease of access for both boaters and bimblers, and particularly the latter, proved a prime consideration last year and so this year, as you know, the venue chosen is Medmenham fields, between Marlow and Henley.
