John Lewis Partnership Sailing Club Regatta

RNSA has been invited to participate in the JLPSC Regatta 12-13 Oct The annual John Lewis Regatta will take place mid-October in the Solent. Racing will take place over 2 days and there will be a dinner at the ISC on that Saturday night. Potential participants should contact Alison Mears at: Sailing_Secretary@johnlewis.

Club Saiing

All,

in addition to the already published programme, and further to emails sent out last week to all HFSC members, Neil Phillips has kindly volunteered to run an additional sailing day on the 21st July (start time 1100 hrs) with the club safety boat on the water. Not a race, just a sailing day. 

We also have recreational sailing this Sunday 14th July, again with the safety boat on the water. Come on down and have some fun.

Plymouth Cruising Group

A friendly gathering on the Yealm On Sat 30 Jun, 23 Plymouth RNSA members in 9 boats gathered on the Yealm for canapés and Pimms. The weather was ideal for the visit and the members congregated on the upper pontoon on arrival. Note the new battle flag at the top of the picture. Later in the evening, the group were hosted by the Yealm Yacht club who, despite a total power failure in the kitchen, laid on an admirable evening meal (many thanks to Brett and John at YYC).

Rope For Sale

The Bosun’s Committee have identified a number of hemp ropes which are surplus to requirements. The ropes have been kept in the garage but come without any guarantee, therefore inspection is recommended ( by mutual agreement ). This might be an opportunity to put a rope around tender gunwales perhaps, or whatever!

The details are as follows. ( all lengths are approximate )

30 mm diameter ropes – 24 metres ( 4 available ), 12 metres ( 3 available )

20 mm diameter ropes – 16 metres ( 5 available ), 12 metres ( 1 available ), 8 metres ( 1 available )

Club members who are interested should email their requirements along with their best offer price to bobsobey by 31st July.
