Social Update
Ordering of food for Friendly Fridays and other events.
Please remember to pre-book food on Webcollect rather than just turn up on the night or at the event. In future if you wait until the night you are likely to be disappointed. Our thinking behind this was to reduce waste, cut down on odd bits of food in the freezer and to make it easier for those cooking at the event to know numbers to cater for. This applies to the cruiser recovery weekend so if you are intending to attend please order your food for Saturday via Wendy Jones at the Cruiser recovery briefing. On Sunday breakfast and lunch will be available if required there is no need to pre-order for the Sunday.
Upcoming Events
- 17th October – Sunsail Gin Night this will follow the pre-lift out meeting and start at 20.30
- 26th October End of season get together is a Pie and Vinyl night so please don’t forget to place your food orders on webcollect there’s a choice of chicken and ham or steak or veggie pie and bring along your favourite record to boogie on down to.

Working party
A big thank you to all the people who helped out at Saturdays working party. Despite the weather being against us we had a good turn out and managed to get a number of odd jobs completed. If anyone is wanting to do more maintenance jobs then please email me and I will give you a list of jobs that are still to be done. If you have a particular trade (i.e. builder or carpenter) and want to use your skills doing work for the club then please let me know. We will try to organise another working party in the near future.

Last Cruise of the Season
Five cruisers, Atropos, Dream On, Good Year, Grace and Grazia made it to the last cruise in the calendar at Gosport Marina. Two more Crews, of Celtic Lady and Emma, also made it to the evening meal in the restaurant on board the Haslar Marina Light Ship. These crews also arrived by sea, but it was via the Gosport ferry. The forecasted wet weather arrived on Saturday as predicted but was accompanied by much stronger winds. The wind came from the NE, fetched the length of Portsmouth Harbour right into the Gosport marina tidal basin causing plenty of movement for many of the boats berthed in the Marina.
Aside from the weather, all in attendance had a good time getting together on this last cruise of 2018. All that remains is to give Richard and Cathy Gunn a vote of thanks for arranging the cruises this year. Worth making the effort, if you enjoy good company, a nice meal, a drink, – oh and sailing!
