First Aid Success

Congratulations to the following members who passed with flying colours the club's first training course of 2012.


The one day RYA First Aid refresher was successfully passed by the following Club Members:

The Steamship "Shieldhall"

Dear Members,

As some of you may be aware ( if you were at the excellent talk on the J Class) we may be able to organise a trip - or trips - to watch the J Class Regatta in July on the SS Shieldhall.

RYA Powerboat Level 2 Course

The first Training event of the year has now started at LOSSC.

RYA POWERBOAT LEVEL 2

This course provides the skills and background knowledge needed to drive a Rib or powerboat and is the basis of the International Certificate of Competence. It includes close quarters handling, high speed manoeuvres, man overboard recovery and collision regulations.

Content includes:
 
·         Launching and recovery,
·         boat handling,
·         securing to a buoy,
·         anchoring, leaving and coming alongside,
·         man overboard
