Email Error in Hoist Invoices

It has come to my attention that the email address for confirmations of online settlement of Cruiser Winter Compound and Hoist Fees was incorrectly stated on the invoices.

The correct address is assistantsec.

Apologies for any confusion.

Ebb & Flow – Last call for 2015

Those long summer days out on the water are now but distant memories. But before they fade forever why not record them for posterity in the next issue of Ebb & Flow.

We need your input to make the next Ebb and Flow interesting so please let us know all about your summer sailing adventures and activities. If you are writing an article (and please do), a few photos if you have them help to make it even more interesting (and make it easier to adjust it to fit in the space available).

Any nautically related articles are welcome and if they cvan have a Christmas or new year theme even better.

Deadline for the next issue of Ebb & Flow – Monday, 7 December 2015

If you have an idea, please get in touch Richard Curtis and send your contributions to him at ebbnflow

Editor, Ebb & Flow

Galley Survey

As you may or may not know the Sunday galley service is not being used as much as it was a few years ago. We would appreciate as many members as possible complete an online survey which can be accessed via the link below. It takes less than a minute to complete and will greatly assist us with our plans for galley services.

Is anyone going near Swansea in the coming weeks?

We are looking for a club member who might be in the Swansea area in the next few weeks, who would be willing to collect a pulpit from Network Yacht Brokers – Swansea. The pulpit measures approximately 0.9m x 0.8m x 0.6m and has been purchased for the committee boat project. If any member is willing to offer help, please email Richard, dinghies or call 07734 768 211.

Introducing your new Treasurer

I am delighted to have taken on the role of Treasurer with effect 1st November 2015, and would like to thank Steve Yoxon for his excellent work and for leaving the club’s financial systems in very good shape. As I am now the Treasurer, expense claims should be sent to me, rather than Steve. You can send them to me in any of the following ways:

  • Electronically: simply scan your signed expense form and accompanying receipts, and email them to treasurer. This is the fastest way to get your expenses paid. If you do this, you do not need to follow up with a paper copy.
  • By mail to me at the postal address on the claim form.
  • By handing in an envelope to the bar staff to put in the safe. Please note this may result in a delay to payment depending on the frequency with which I am able to attend the club.

Expenses will be paid by bank transfer to your nominated account, subject to the expense claim being in order.

Forms are available in the Members Secure Area on the website: http://www.tudorsailing.org.uk/TudorSailing/04_membersecure/Exec_Documents/Upload/TSC%20Expenses%20claim%20form%20Nov%202015.pdf

There is also an excel file version in the Members Secure Area which you can download. If you have downloaded and saved a copy of a previous version of the form, please replace your stored copy with the new forms.

As a final act as Sailing Secretary, thank you to all who have supported me over the last few years – and please return any trophies to the bar so they can be engraved with the 2015 winners.

Janice Bell
Treasurer

Water Babies

On behalf of all of the cruiser owners, I would just like to express my thanks to all of the Water Babies, most of whom are dinghy sailors who do not even own cruisers, who gave up their weekend for the privilege of standing in cold water. Thanks to you all.

Tudor SC Procure new Committee Boat / Working Boat

In my first communication as Dinghy Captain, I thought I would explain the clubs new acquisition.

A proposal was made to the executive committee last month to buy the old tug on Kendalls Wharf for use as a Committee Boat and Work Boat. I am very pleased to announce that the proposal was accepted and the club now own the tug – a bargain at just £1500.

The tug has now been moved to the compound so that a series of planned works can be completed. I have volunteered to oversee these works, but I am looking for volunteers to help transform this boat. A project plan and budget will be submitted to the exec at their next meeting, but in the meantime, I would like to put together a team of volunteers. Time volunteered on this boat can count towards your duty hours, so if you are short of a few, this is a great opportunity. The work can be completed at a time that suits you… the club will supply the materials and tools required to complete the works.

If you are interested in this exciting project, please email me at dinghies or call 07734768211
