Paella Friday – 3rd August
Nicola Craig is cooking paella this friendly Friday. Order via Webcollect.
There will be chicken & chorizo paella as well as a vegetarian option made with quorn chicken pieces.
There are still galley duty slots available for that night. Help would be appreciated, if someone signs up as ‘cook’ they’re more than welcome to make a dessert if they wish, or just help me with the paella. Helping serve up and washing up is also important to do, if anyone can lend a hand. Sign up via Dutyman.

Galley Volunteers Needed for August
As yet there have been no volunteers sign up for galley duties this month. The club can only run successfully if everyone does their bit. Last month the galley remained shut for one friendly Friday which was a big disappointment particularly for those out on the water. Please contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of the club through volunteering for duties in the galley. To help encourage people to sign up I will be running a monthly training session; this months is this Wednesday the 1st August at 6.15. The session will take about 30mins and will give you an introduction to the kitchen, use of equipment, a few health and safety pointers and the money handling procedure. It will also be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have.
Members really appreciate the galley being open on Friendly Fridays and for other events particularly having hot food when they come off the water. So volunteer to be a part of the galley team there are 2 positions available the cook and the cooks assistant. Being the cook means you can prepare a meal of your choice either on-site in the kitchen or make it at home and bring it in to serve so you can be as creative as you like. As the cooks assistant you will help with the prep, serving and clearing away afterwards.
Galley duties available for Friendly Fridays in August are 3rd, 10th 17th & 31st all require 2 volunteers for 3 hours each. In addition volunteers are needed for Langstone Harbour race weekend on the 24th, 25th, 26th, & 27th. Help us to show case the club to the others in the harbour. For new members it’s a great opportunity to meet people. If you’re interested in either training or galley duty contact me via the website. Your contribution would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Charity Fun Race – Monday 27th August 2018 – 12:45
Supporting the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation
There will be a charity fun race on the August bank holiday Monday, which will be open to all Tudor members, including our junior section. The race will be a simple course around the harbour, but the race will feature a ‘fly a novelty masthead float from your mast head’ challenge. There will be prizes for the most original and funniest novelty mast head float – so put your thinking caps on and keep your eyes peeled for a suitable inflatable to fly from your mast.
A donations bucket will be going round on the morning of the race, so please have some change spare to donate to this great cause.
If you would like more information about the event, please see our event poster attached to this email or feel free to email me with any questions.
