RNSA(P) Dinghy Race Coaching 3

Race coaching in Portsmouth harbour The third and final race coaching session took place in Portsmouth tonight from RNSC. Four boats (2 Hartleys, a Fusion and an RS200) took part in several drills including tacking on the whistle, downwind shadowing and 3 races to finish. The next event is the James Cup Thursday evening series which starts on Thu 6 Jun.

The slightly depleted fleet, missing 3 yachts, gathered at Gilkicker to decide who would top the podium for the Spring Series. In reality a crunch match between Jolly Jack Tar and Tinker T in the very competitive IRC fleet. JJT as SOOD held the whip hand for the contest and set a course of a windward leg to Kemps Quay, a shy reach across to Browndown followed by a short run to Fairhall West and a kite reach home with the tide.
