RNSA(P) Wednesday Spring Series race 6

Ten yachts of the regular fleet of eleven mustered at Gilkicker for the sixth race of the Spring series. Fortunately the spasmodic rainfall had died away and a light southwesterly suggested that a decent race could be on despite the tide roaring towards Russia. Moonfleet, an SOOD virgin handled the course setting and race management with aplomb.

Spring Series Update

It has been noticed that the published time for the Spring Series race on 12th May is incorrect (and would put the race on the flood tide). The new time will be 12:30, please can you amend any calendar or diary entries you have made with the new start time. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Thanks

Many thanks to all the members who came down on Friday afternoon to help to recover the capsized and partly sunk Gurgle. It was one of the times that shows the club at its best, when everyone pitches in to solve a problem. In particular, Linda Vacher did the coordination, Keith Prior-Smith notified us of the problem and then drove the tractor and hoist, and Pete Burke did the scuba diving, but there were many more involved and are all due our thanks.

RNLI Fundraising Event, Hayling

On the 11th of May there will be a fund raising event held at the Inn on the Beach on Hayling Island in aid of the RNLI and others. The programme can be found by following the link below:

https://www.innonthebeach.co.uk/event/friends-on-water-annual-event-with-rnli/

This is a family day out with plenty of activities including an RNLI demonstration with helicopter (unless they are called to a real emergency) and should be of interest to all.
