Data collection request regarding patrol boat helm and crew

At this year’s AGM, it was voted that, by 2021, all Tudor patrol boat helms would have to be qualified to RYA Power Boat Level Two. In order to help the Sailing Committee work out how best to achieve this, we would like to gather some data to establish where we are at the moment in terms of qualifications vs numbers of patrol boat helm and crew.

To this end, if you use our patrol boats already or you intend to be signed off to helm or crew Tudor patrol boats by 2021, it would be much appreciated if you could click on this link and fill in a short Survey Monkey questionnaire. https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/LFQZXTB

If there are several of you on a family membership who will be using the patrol boats, please complete the questionnaire for each person (just come back and click on the link a second time!)

Many thanks

Will Stokely
Sailing Secretary

RBS 6 Nations Rugby

We will be showing the following Rugby matches on the big screen at the club:

Saturday 19 March

  • 14:30 Wales v Italy at Stadio Olimpico
  • 17:00 Ireland v Scotland at Murrayfield
  • 20:00 France v England at Twickenham

The bar will be open for the matches and all members and their guests are welcome to attend. To help you celebrate your team’s tries the bar has extended its collection of whiskies to include at least one whisky from each of the nations playing.

The galley will be serving hot dog and chips between the first two games and are planning to organize take-out meals to be delivered to the club prior to the last match – orders to be taken at the club on the day.

Please let me know If you would like to volunteer for a bar and/or galley duty for any of these games.

Thanks,

Jason Chipper
Bar Manager

Bar Duties

Bar duties for the next few months will be on Duty Man by this weekend. Please check what you have been assigned and swap as necessary.

To extend bar opening times on “Friendly Fridays” and to reduce opening times for the quieter Sunday lunch times there will be some 1.5 hour duties this year as well as the usual 3 hour duties. The maintenance requirement remains unchanged at 15 hours per year.

If you wish to volunteer for bar duties, but require training please let me know via the email address below.

Thanks,

Jason Chipper
