Waiting for the Tide

Another short on content Tidal Diamond, so time to suggest some interesting links.

First up, from the RYA, is an up coming YouTube video “TOP 5 RULE 42 MISTAKES and how to avoid them in Single-Handed Dinghy Racing“. You can watch live and discuss things with other viewers at 11am on 10th December, or watch it later – both available at: https://youtu.be/ixxuoTn8hew

Sticking with YouTube, this channel from Tom Cunliffe may be of interest: https://www.youtube.com/c/TomCunliffeYachtsandYarns. For those not familiar with the name, Tom has written for various sailing magazines and presented several television series on boats and sailing.

Finally, RYA – LIFE Recreational Remedies – if you’re a sailor, or enjoy any other type of recreational boating in and around Plymouth, the Solent or the Isle of Wight you can help LIFE Recreation Remedies understand how best to protect our beautiful boating environment and #SaveOurSeabed by completing their online survey about you and your boating practices: http://rya.org/j3EJ50CCK1b. Closing date for responses is 9 December (which doesn’t leave much time, I only came across it today!). Learn more about the work of the LIFE Recreation Remedies project: https://thegreenblue.org.uk/…/projects/remedies-project/

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world, even though this lockdown is slightly different things are far from normal. It is always nice to hear from members, and any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Stay safe.
