Women on Water

STARTING THIS WEEK!

An opportunity for Tudor ladies to sail, kayak, row or windsurf in company.

Make some ‘me time’ on Thursday evenings to come and join a group of like-minded ladies having fun on the water in our beautiful harbour.

Meet at 1730 for launching at 1815, the tide and weather for this week lend themselves to a kayak / SUP session. We will partner up in the double kayaks for those who are inexperienced / nervous / would prefer to be with another person.

Contact wow with your mobile number to be added to our WhatsApp group.

Waiting for the Tide

I have been sent details of a webinar (online talk for anyone not familiar with that word). It is on Zoom and Facebook and is quite short notice being on 15th April at 8pm (so likely tonight by the time anyone reads this). It is titled Ignore the Fear and is by Fiona Quinn.

Join us as endurance adventurer, author, and paddleboarder Fiona Quinn chats about how she became the first woman to complete a length of Britain triathlon in 2018, when she paddled her stand up paddleboard from Land’s End to John o’Groats, having already walked and cycled the route.“. For more details and to book visit:

To pick a couple of items from recent club communications and add a reminder here:

Regular bar service is planned to resume from 22nd May, with Friendly Fridays resuming from the 28th – well socially distanced friendliness no doubt! There will also be meals available – see the email for menu details.

Along with the bar opening details was a call for volunteers to keep things running. If you haven’t received the email and want contact details (or the menu details) let me know.

There was also a reminder to cruiser owners to check your moorings in good time for launch to allow for lost buoys to be replaced or any work to be done on chains and shackles. I know I rushed around last year sorting out new chain for my mooring in the window between being able to get out the check it and launch, just to be sure all was in good shape in case we locked down again too soon after launch and I couldn’t get down to do the work I wanted!

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world. It is always nice to hear from members, and any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Stay safe.
