Three Forts Race Sunday 9th September

On our last remaining spare day I am going to try yet again to run the Three Forts Race.

This is a great sail and if the conditions are right it is really enjoyable to go outside our normal sailing area.So here is your chance to have a really special day.

Come on chaps and lassies. School holidays are over so back to business. Come and join in the Harbour Race, great fun - your never far from the shore so if you fall in you have only got to walk.

About the Region

The RYA Southern Region incorporates all RYA Affiliated Clubs and Organisations in Hampshire, South East Dorset, the Isle of Wight, and Chichester Harbour, plus a few London based and Sevices Clubs whose sailing base is in the Southern Region, approx. 160 in total.

RNSA Cruisers witness the 3 Queens in Southampton

Solent Cruising Group Members joined in the Diamond Jubilee celebrations along with the 3 Cunard Queens RNSA Porstmouth Cruising Group celebrated the Diamond Jubilee by joining in the celebrations of the 3 Cunard Queens in the Solent on Jubilee weekend. 7 members booked in and many of them actually made it despite the frightful weather!! Lonk Avel & Pipkin slipped their berths on Monday for Universal Marina in the Hamble.

RNSA(P) Early Summer Series Race 9

Breezy finale to the Early Summer Series With the wind gusting up to 25kts it was a fast and furious finale to the Early Summer Series. The IRC results confirmed that “Tinker T” (David Bunn) was the series winner but the minor places could only be separated by the second tie resolution with “Sunshine” (Malcolm Roberts) finishing ahead of “Kurketrekker” (Stephen Parry).

East Coast Calais Rally

Annual Branch foreign cruise 15 members and four boats joined with the Little Ship Club and Thames Estuary Clubs for the annual visit to Calais. Little Ship Club records show the first vist being in 1923, 85 years ago. Numbers down due to the competing Jubilee events on the Thams and across the country.

River Dart Diamond Jubilee Parade

RNSA Boats take part in the celebrations Nicko Franks, Dartmouth resident and longstanding RNSA Member, set to and organised a very successful parade of boats on the River Dart on 4 June to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee, with the help of the Harbourmaster and members of the Dartmouth Yacht Club. Officially 60 boats took part, one for each year of The Queen’s reign, but several others joined in at times for part of the route.
