HSSC RNSA Wenesday Series Race 6 Results

Course: Stokes Bay East - North East Ryde Middle - Kemps Quay - Stokes Bay East - Finish From Ric Hanslip: Wind SW 8-12 Kts, a perfect setting for Race 6 of the Summer Series except for the honking east going tide. A straight forward race situation it might be thought but tonight all the drama was behind the scenes.

Langstone Regatta

This Saturday Langstone Sailing Club are hosting their regatta. The racing will be split into 3 fleets based on PY numbers with the first fleet starting at 12:30. The race area will be just west of the old Hayling Billy bridge so please allow enough time to get to the racing area. Attached is the notice of race for the regatta. We are still needing a patrol boat helm to help support Langstone sailing clubs regatta. If you have any queries then please feel to drop me a message at dinghies.

Waiting for the Tide

A couple of items that may be of interest to members this week. Firstly, LHB are looking for a new Office Manager, so if that is of interest you can find more details at: https://www.langstoneharbour.org.uk/recruitment.

Secondly, there is a Bathymetric Dredge Monitoring Survey within Portsmouth Harbour and the Main Approach between the 28th June and 2nd July. The full QHM LNtM is at: https://www.royalnavy.mod.uk/QHM/Portsmouth/Local-Notices/LNTM/2021/2138-BATHYMETRIC-DREDGE-MONITORING-SURVEY.

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address. No need to be feeling isolated and cut off from the world to do so, it is always nice to hear from members. Any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Let’s be careful out there.

Cruising in France ?

New form to be submitted Since the end of the Brexit transition on 31 December 2020, sailors have had to sail to one of a small number of Ports of Entry, mainly ferry ports, and search out the relevant authorities (usually the Police aux Frontieres) to register the arrival of their boat and crew. This same process has been necessary before departing France for the UK, Channel Islands or any non-Schengen country.
