RNSA(P) Wednesday Summer Series Race 1

With the cancellation of the final 2 races of the Spring series due to low wind speeds there was some trepidation that this might reoccur for the first race of the Summer Series as the gradient wind was forecast to be light. However fortunately the sea breeze hung around just long enough for all to Electron V the SOOD anticipating a dying breeze set a short course to Browndown with the tide helping followed by a short reaching leg to Stokes Bay West with a run home against the tide.

Tidal Diamond 576 – Gig, BBQ, Bar & Galley Duties

Tidal Diamond No. 576

Gig Rowing

The Gig will be on the water for any club member to try on Wednesday evening at 1730hrs. and Thursday evening at 1730hrs. These sessions are open to all club members and will only last approx. 30 minutes on the water. They are for a bit of nautical fun, they will definitely not be punishing, nor too long to raise blisters. To have a go just email me.

Any members who have tried the Gig and would like to engage in a regular weekly row please email me and I will put your name on our core regulars email group.

Kit needed: A buoyancy aid of some sort, wet boots or wellies, gloves and a windcheater over some layers.
