Tidal Diamond 578 – Possible Damage, Missing Items

Tidal Diamond No. 578

Possible Damage

In the very strong winds gusting 9 we had a boat break free from mooring 79 and come to rest with Sunbird on mooring 37. Please could all skippers north of 79 check their boats for damage. Sunbird is on mooring 37 east. (If you need to check the mooring layout and numbering, the plans in the Secure area of the website under the Bosuns’ documents section are helpful – Ed.)

Dear Membership

Could the member who accidentally took home my wetsuit and blue wind-proof from the men’s changing room last week please return it to the men’s changing room so I can go out sailing.

Many Thanks,

Mark Tranter

POSTPONEMENT OF WINDSURFING FESTIVAL

Weather forces postponement Unfortunately the strong winds forecast for the 10-11 Jun have forced the organisors to delay the event until later in the year with September being favorite. This decision was not taken lightly but it was felt that it was inevitable if the aims and objectives of the event were not to be compromised and only a few hard core sailors benefiting.

RNSA(P) Wednesday Summer Series Race 2

With the wind gusting to 35 knots throughout the Solent at midday but several forecasts indicating it would moderate in the late afternoon it was once again a day of decision making. The organiser plumped for the forecast and racing was on. However at 1700 as most crews assembled it was still gusting over 30 knots in Stokes Bay.
