Operation Frankton - Dr T Keene and Lt Cdr F A Egeland-Jensen RN At 1907 on 7th December 1942 the submarine Tuna surfaced off the coast of occupied France near the mouth of the River Gironde. It was there they launched Major Herbert “Blondie” Haslar RM and his team of marines in five folding two man kayaks.
