Compound Reorganisation

It’s that time of year again so please ensure that your dinghy is marked with your name, has this year’s stickers on it, the trolley is serviceable with pumped up tyres and that any wheel clamps are unlocked for the compound reorganisation on 14th April.

For those looking to get some of their club duty sorted early in the season, there are loads of dinghies and tenders to move around and there is always plenty of pruning, weeding, sweeping and brushing which needs to be done so…’many hands…’ and all that. With reference to the jobs listed which are not moving dinghies around, please consider bringing down gardening gloves, secateurs, clippers, brushes, rakes etc.

Cruiser Launch

Thanks to all those who attended and worked throughout the day to launch our cruisers/boats. Particular thanks to those who provided support to us all ensuring we were watered and fed, launched and returned safely to shore. All brought about a good humoured success day. I would make special mention of two members: Linda Vacher for her interpersonal and organisational skills (no doubt a transferred from her professional life) for keeping the programme apace, and, Ian Smith, (former Bosun, now distant member), for coming along undertaking banksman and supplementary hoist driving.

Congratulations to all who readied and have launched. Look forward to seeing you afloat. Here’s hoping the weather turns fine for a happy sailing season for all members.
