Charity Event
My partner, Alison Emery, a member of the Club, is raising money for a charity called Action For Children. This charity supports disadvantaged children through fostering and adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse. They also work to improve the life of children with disabilities and influence policy and advocate for change.
Tudor Sailing Club is supporting an event on the 29th September to raise money for this cause. We have a great evening lined up with food – cottage pie (veggie and meat options) and live music from the Phoney Stones and Wish List, a raffle and a talk by Lily Haig from Action for Children who will give a brief talk about the work of the charity.
Tickets are £12.50 and all proceeds go directly to the charity. Tickets can be obtained from either Sharon or Alison Emery in person on Friendly Fridays or by emailing hudd333 or alisonemery57 giving name and a contact number and we’ll get back to you to discuss your requirements. Alternatively you can call Alison on 07760 100279 or Sharon on 07748 955485 to book tickets. Tickets are not available on Webcollect.
In order to raise money for Action for Children Alison is also abseiling off the Spinnaker Tower on Sunday 9th September at 10.30 am if you would like to come and support her. If you would like to sponsor her you can do so by making a donation to her Virgin Giving Page below:

Thames Great River Race 2018
Tudor Rowers Sandy Craig, John Elson and Ian Ducane with Jay Ducane & Heather Owen as coxswain/ passenger will be entering this race on the 8th September 2018. Boat support will be given by Graham Ducane
The GRR race is for fixed seat rowing boats rigged with a minimum of 4 oars. Last year we had cruise ship lifeboats and dragon boats running with up to 16 oars/paddles. 330 boats entered last year and this year looks to be much the same. We did well for our first outing last year finishing in 17th place, we hope to improve our time and place this year. An early start will have boats from all around the country and further afield at the start line at Millwall Docks ready to row the 22 miles upriver to the finish line at Ham.
John suggested we row this year in aid of a local charity and so we have chosen our local RNLI station at Eastney to receive donations from our rowing efforts.
A just giving page has been set up for all donations and can be accessed via the link below.

Thank you for donating to this good cause.
