Lay By Berth for Red Funnel Red Funnel have applied for a licence to build a new lay-by berth for its £10 freight ferry, which is due to enter service to the Isle of Wight in early 2019. It will be located to the north of the company's current car ferry berth. Dredging will also be undertaken.

Swanwick development Premier Marinas are ploughing £8 million into their site in Hamble to provide a 333 berth floating marina and bridgehead building. The work will be carried out in two phases, beginning in October this year. The development will result in 59 extra berths for 6m - 40 m boats, and all pontoons will run east to west, which Premier say will allow customers to have a berth measuring at least the length of their boat and will make berthing safer and easier.
