Patrol Boat Training THIS WEEKEND!
As mentioned a month or so ago, we have two last minute dates for PB training this Saturday 8th December and Saturday 22nd December. Both days will start at 9am and will last around 3 hours.
Ideally we would like to run PB1 this Saturday and PB2 just before Christmas but ultimately, we will run whichever course we can best fill. If you would like to receive this training, please reply to me and let me know which one you can attend and which course you need. (Please note that you cannot be trained on PB2 until you have completed duties as PB1). Priority will be given to those members who have already requested training on the website.

Trophy Return
Those of you who have had Tudor trophies gracing your mantelpieces for the last year, its time to return them to the club. Please bring them in before the New Year and leave them either behind the bar, galley or in the Race Box. Please do not just leave them in the main room. Thank you. If you are willing to give them a little buff before you send them back then you will earn an additional gold star!

Boxing Day Race
Before we start chasing people up to volunteer to be PB Helm and Race Officer for the Boxing Day race, I would like to ask for racers to give me an expression of interest. High tide on Boxing day is around 1:30pm so you can expect a lunchtime race. If it is your intention to come and race, please can you drop me an email to let me know. Happy for you to send me a ‘probably’ or ‘possibly’ type response as I don’t expect a firm commitment as realise that there are factors like weather, family and Christmas over-indulgence to consider. If we get enough interest in racing, we will then do our best to assemble the necessary support to run and PB the race.

Each year, the Sailing Sec/Committee can award these trophies as follows:
Terry Fleming: Awarded to a member demonstrating special endeavour in sailing activities.
Flounder: Awarded to someone renowned for spectacular capsizes, dunking or other notable events on the water.
If you would like to nominate someone in the club for either of these awards, please drop me an email. All emails will be treated with complete confidentiality in terms of who offered any nominations.
