Not a creature was stirring

I was tempted to start by commenting that on the water activities are quieter at this time of year, but if you check the Diary Dates below you can see that there is still plenty for the hardy dinghy sailor, with the last of the Frostbite Series, the Boxing Day Race and then the Icicle Series kicking off in January – which is not that far off now.

The Social Committee are working hard too, and managing to organise three events before the end of the year, with Christmas Carols, Christmas Lunch and a New Year’s Eve Family Party, as well as their own Christmas’ – details below.

When you get your 2019 Diary for Christmas, make sure the first thing you put in there is the Tudor AGM on the 13th January.

To round off, a couple of articles from the RYA that may be of interest to members.

Firstly, from a recent newsletter a piece on cold water shock, which is actually just as important during the summer months.

Secondly, in preparation for getting cruisers ready for the water, some advice on safety and environmental considerations when antifouling.

December Social Events

14th December – Christmas Carols with Cat Jones.

Food: Sausage rolls and mince pies will be served.

16th December – Sandra’s Christmas Lunch – £14 Adults, £5 Children (under 12)

Food Menu : Starter – Pate with Melba Toast

Main – Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pud, Roast potatoes and vegetables

Dessert – Christmas Pudding or Trifle.

Tea and Coffee with Mints.

31st December – New Years Eve Family Party – Disco by Derek (Free Entry)

Food : American Supper, Please bring a dish to share with your friends.

(please note down ingredients in case of other members with food allergies)

All ages welcome to attend, bar open from 8pm into the new year, don’t forget to pre-book your taxis!
