Patrol Boat Training

As mentioned a couple of weeks ago, we have the training resource to run a PB training this Saturday 22nd December. It will start at 9am and will last around 3 hours.

We will run whichever course we can best fill so whether you want PB1 or PB2 please let me know and we will go with the majority. If you would like to receive this training, please reply to me and let me know which one you can attend and which course you need. (Please note that you cannot be trained on PB2 until you have completed duties as PB1).

Boxing Day Race Cancelled

I am afraid that, due to a very limited amount of interest in this race, it is not considered viable to assemble the club resources to run it. If members would like to run a self started, unsupported race then you are welcome to do so. Sorry about that but it’s the sensible decision to make based on resources vs competitors interested.

Hope you all have a great Christmas and see you on the water in 2019.

Christmas Lunch at Tudor Sailing Club

Through Tidal Diamonds, a vote of thanks please, to Sandra Hunt, ably assisted by Social Sec Wendy Jones, and helpers, running the bar, and waiting the tables, for Sandra’s most excellent roast beef dinner with four veg and Yorkshire. The main course was preceded by a pate starter and followed by a very popular trifle, or Christmas pudding sweet, with coffee and mint chocolate to finish.

Lin Goodyear organised a most excellent raffle befitting the occasion drawn at the end of the meal. There were a few donations of prizes to the raffle which added to the significant number of prizes, draw winners being spoilt for choice!

Numbers attending were down on previous years, but nevertheless it was an occasion to meet up with members as well as seeing some newer members come along, thanks to them too.

An occasion on a Sunday lunchtime on the run up to Christmas not to be missed. Sincerely hoping Sandra’s up for it next year. Well done Sandra and Co.

Merry Christmas

By this time next week the Christmas meal will be over and the washing up done, so here’s to some fair weather and good sailing in 2019. I’ll slot in a gentle reminder that the AGM is on Sunday 13 January, and then wish everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
