Tudor AGM – Slightly Better News
Social UpdateMaintenance JobsRowingDiary Dates Tudor AGM – Slightly Better News After recent doom and gloom filled emails regarding the lack of nominees for club officer posts for the AGM, I felt that perhaps some members were being put off the idea of standing for Hon. Sailing Secretary and Hon. Secretary by the thought of having to deal with a club with no Flag Officers. So, the good news is that we now have members willing to stand for all three Flag Officer posts; these are:
Commodore – Richard GunnVice Commodore – Rob WaringRear Commodore – Colin Thorpe Please note that other members are still able to be nominated at the AGM for any of the above positions. What we still need are: Hon. Sailing Secretary – job description is under the Exec documents in the Members Area of the website but the sailing calendar for 2019 will be complete by the AGM. It does seem rather sad for a sailing club to enter its 70th year without a Sailing Sec. so please think about it. Hon. Secretary – job description is under the Exec documents in the Members Area of the website but this was written before Paul Megson became the Database administrator and he does undertake a lot of the work at present and would hopefully be willing to assist in the future. Please feel free to contact me if you want to talk about any of the vacancies. Richard GunnVice Commodore

Maintenance Jobs Currently there are a number of painting jobs that need doing around the club. Most of these are indoors and are best done at around this time while the club is fairly quiet. If you are interested in taking on these painting jobs as part of your maintenance hours then please do drop me an email at. Mark SwallowMaintenance Officer

Rowing The rowing section is organising a kayak event to take place on 19th May 2019. In order for this event to take place we have to start event planning now. There will be a meeting at the clubhouse 19:00 Friday 25th January to start this ball rolling. Please bring ideas for event – courses, fun events, catering, parking, volunteers etc. Looking forward to seeing you there. Sandy GraigRowing Captain

RYA Video Links Following on from the RYA articles I included a few weeks ago, I have been sent the following links to videos produced discussing the future of sailing that may be of interest to club members. Settle down with a cuppa though as they are between one and one and a half hours each. Paul TansomTidal Diamond Editor
