Push the Boat Out was a good success. Thanks to everyone who helped organise and serve food.

We are planning to open galley on new members friendly Friday nights and would like people to volunteer for galley duties. These are usually held on first Friday of the month. If you are able to do one or more of these duties please ring me to discuss availability.

Rowing News

Rowing

Why not try your hand at rowing next Saturday? On the 1st June there will be trial sessions for both novices and returning rowers at 10:30. Rowing is a great way to get out on the water, and the club boats are in use year round.

Kayaking

Don’t forget the ECA Cockleshell Challenge on the 9th June – this year the ECA want to get more kayaks participating and the event is open to both sea kayaks and sit-ons. The race takes place on the Sunday. There is no formal racing taking place on the Saturday, but there will be an evening BBQ to which all are invited. Please let me know if you are interested so I can pass on potential numbers to the ECA.

Women on the Water – Thursday 30th May

Following the fantastic success in 2018, Women on the Water sessions have returned for 2019. These are an opportunity for Tudor ladies to sail, kayak, row or windsurf in company no experience necessary. Why should the boys and kids have all the fun?

Make some time on Thursday evenings to come and join a group of like minded ladies of all abilities having fun on the water in our beautiful harbour.

Last year we rowed, kayaked, SUP’d, sailed dinghies in all shapes and sizes, ate bacon rolls and cake and most importantly had a great time both on and off the water (often at my expense). There is no planned patrol boat but we can take out Marlin with those that would like to get some more hours on the boat if we want to.

The weather forecast for this week is not great but fear not we will still meet up, have a chat, eat some cake and do shore based activities for an hour or so.

If you can’t make it this week don’t worry the sessions for 2019 are running weekly, drop a line to wow or come to any of the sessions.

See you on the water soon.

Push the Boat Out 18th May 2019

We had Sunshine but not a lot of wind at this year’s ‘Push the Boat out’. With over 40 members who came along to help on and off the water. That with around 40 visitors the club was really ‘buzzing’ for most of the day.

All the club boats – Dinghies and Gig were used and we also used the Decathlon 5S (inflatable dinghy) that we had borrowed from the Andrew Simpson Watersports Centre (next door). Reports on the 5S was that it was great fun!

Four of our Cruiser owners were kept very busy taking both adults and children for a sail / motor on their own cruisers.

Thanks to everyone who helped in any way.
