RNSA(P) Wednesday Summer Series race 4

The Solent wind models were yet again found wanting, most saying around 8 knots of westerly ish breeze at 1800. A fine south westerly of 12-15 knots was what greeted the fleet at Gilkicker however, much better than expected. With a Trojan no show, Tinker T once more took on the mantle of SOOD and set a beat into the east going tide to Mother Bank, a further fetch to SE Ryde Middle and a run home.

Clean Air Zone Consultation

Portsmouth City Council may have to introduce measures such as making the whole of Portsea island a congestion zone for older cars. Since this includes the location of Tudor I thought it worth posting a link to the survey.

We want to hear from you in our clean air zone survey, if you drive onto or around Portsea Island in a petrol vehicle registered before 2006 or diesel vehicle registered before 2015.

The survey results will help inform the strategy that we will be putting to Government later this year. This strategy aims to improve our air quality and people’s well being through other non-charging activities. However, Government requires us to consider other options including a charging clean air zone. If a charging clean air zone is imposed by Government we will launch a detailed consultation in the autumn.”
