Plymouth to Roscoff Offshore Race 19 July 2019

The 3rd Race of the Plymouth Ullman Sails Offshore Series is open for everybody who wishes to take part. The race starts at 2000 on Friday 19 July and is the ideal way to start a summer cruise in France. Entry forms and Sailing instructions are in the attached documents and with only a £15 entry fee (before 14 July) the race is tremendous value for money.

The Coastal Forces Memorial rededication

A ceremony was held at Hornet Services Sailing Club (HMS Hornet) by the Chaplain of the Fleet. During the Second World War the Coastal Forces operated small fast boats that were mostly tasked with protecting the shipping around the UK coast and conducting clandestine operations against the enemy.

RNSA(P) Fleet Commander’s Cup Race Report

Dinghy racing in Portsmouth harbour This afternoon saw 6 RNSA(P) sailors competing for the Fleet Commander’s Cup in Fusion dinghies from Whale Island. Race Officer Ken Bichard ran 4 races to the West of the Island in a gusty F3-5 Easterly breeze. Glorious sunshine accompanied some excellent racing, with constant place changing across the fleet and several of the boats in contention for 1st place overall.
