RYA Powerboat Courses

Hill Head Sailing Club run RYA Powerboat Courses each winter. These are fully certified RYA courses with particular emphasis on operating within a sailing club. There are a few spare places this year that they have offered to local club members:

  • Power Boat Level 1 Course, February 21st (evening), 22nd, 23rd – £140 inc handbooks
  • Power Boat Level 2 Course, February 28th (evening), 29th, March 1st – £140 inc handbooks

Access Road Changes

As you will have seen in recent WebCollect emails it is planned to make temporary changes to the access road to Tudor from Thursday (6th February). In case it is useful for anyone who hasn’t been to the club recently I’ve done a quick edit of some of my dashcam footage to show where the turnings will be. I can’t imagine it won’t be pretty obvious, but you do turn quite quickly after leaving the main road. The video can be found on YouTube:

Holt Cup – RN Team Racing Championship 2020

The historic Holt Cup returns for 2020, and this year is being held in the SW at Camber SC on Thu 19 - Fri 20 March. This main event in the dinghy racing calendar is an intra-service Team Racing championship, where different RN regions compete for the Holt Cup. Team Racing sees 2 regions go head-to-head in short, sharp races where the results of all the boats in a team count to the end result.

RYA Bursary Awards for aspiring young Felpham sailors
