Waiting for the Tide

Hopefully everyone is continuing to keep safe and well, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world. It is nice to have had a few people get in touch, I am pleased to hear some have enjoyed the wordsearches, and even completed the last one. I’ve also had some examples of what people have been up to off the water, so if you have anything you would like to share with other members (and the internet as these TIdal Diamonds are available through the Tudor website) do send them through.

This week I have a new wordsearch, this time a bit more personal to Tudor. There are the names of 35 of the boats on Tudor moorings to find (as taken from the latest list in the Bosuns section of the Tudor website if you want a few clues). Thirty five gives me enough for another one at a later date, so don’t feel left out if your boat isn’t on there. Dinghy owners shouldn’t feel left out either, I don’t currently have a list, but I’m sure there is one – although there won’t be the oportunity for hints! It should also give me time to think up some more ideas…

I have attached two sheets for last weeks one. One is the words, in case you want to find any you didn’t find with the advantage of knowing what you are looking for. The other has the answers on.

Virtual Regatta

For anyone missing out on sailing, in particular racing, there is an online Virtual Regatta available. The RYA has details on their website at: https://www.rya.org.uk/Pages/virtual-regatta.aspx. It is free to sign up and play. You can use real money to purchase within the game, but you don’t have to, and there is no need to provide a credit card to sign up. All you need to provide on signing up is an email address, password and a ‘pseudo’, which is basically a username to use with the game. For some reason they have max and min swapped on the sign up page, I don’t think the password is really a max of 2 characters, and having your pseudo a max of 3 and min of 20 really doesn’t make sense, but it all works out in the end. There is also an app for Android and Apple phones if you prefer.

Within the game you can connect with friends, and I have created a TudorSC account for the club. The RYA has secured VIP accounts for one year for member clubs free of charge, and this allows the account to create races. Once I’ve worked things out I can hopefully set some up for Tudor.

Useful Links

I thought it worth continuing to include a few useful links here as a handy place to find them if you haven’t already got them bookmarked:

It is probably also worth noting:
