Women on the Water 2020

Women on the Water will be returning from Thursday 18th June (the weather looks a bit rubbish for this week)

We will be returning on a weekly basis, meeting at the club at 5pm but will have the following restrictions.

  • Maximum of 6 per session
  • If sailing then own boats must be used
  • Social distancing must be followed
  • Participants must follow the current club guidelines
  • Any participant wishing to use a club kayak must book this in advance using the web system.

We currently communicate via a communal whats app group, if you are not currently in it and would like to be added please email your name and mobile number to wow

Over the next week we will work out a way of booking onto a session, priority will be given in week 2 to those who missed out in week 1 and so on so everyone can take part.

Waiting for the Tide

I’m not sure how long to keep sending out new wordsearch puzzles, but here’s another one for this week. As ever the solution for last weeks is attached. This week the words author’s surnames. All are known for writing about sailing, either experiences or practical guides – one is better known for fiction. I have also attached a sheet with the full names of the authors in case you are interested in finding out more about any you aren’t familiar with – or just can’t remember the full name and it is annoying you!

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world. It is always nice to hear from members, and any ideas of things to do would be most welcome.

Stay safe.

Useful Links

I thought it worth continuing to include a few useful links here as a handy place to find them if you haven’t already got them bookmarked:

It is probably also worth noting:
