Operation Wavebreaker
An initiative set up by the Marine Support Unit In response to a surge in reports of anti-social behaviour around Hampshire and the Isle of Wight the initiative aims to address current problems and long term solutions, with officers working with other police marine units to share ideas and best practices as well as local harbour masters, maritime rescue agencies and community groups.

Southampton Boat Show
... maybe a smaller event this year The organisers of the Southampton Boat Show are considering holding an alternative, smaller scale event this year after confirming that this year's show in its current format will not be going ahead in September, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The event usually attracts over 100,000 visitors and more than 430 exhibitors.

Red Diesel – a new tax relief scheme ?
UK Marinas now sell red diesel on a 60/40 split of full and lower tax rates for propulsion and heating or power generation. The UK Government announced in the last budget that it would scrap the red diesel subsidy by April 2022, except for agricultural, rail and non-commercial heating purposes, including heating recreational boats.
