Cruiser Recovery

The Bosun Committee is organising the cruiser recovery for the weekend of 26/27 September, this is early due to the possibility of another lockdown when flu season starts.

The recovery will only include those cruisers on the water. Members should let the bosuns know ASAP if they wish to recover on this weekend as we may need to stagger times for people to arrive so as to not have a large gathering of people.

There will be no ferrying therefore members will need to use their tenders and must ensure masks are worn if crewing with members of other families.

There will be a Tudor rib afloat in case of emergency and water babies will also be on hand to help with the hoist strops.

Members can of course recover earlier or later by drying on the slip and arranging their own tractor driver and banksmen. Just keep in mind that if there is a further lockdown then club, slipway and compound will be off limits and your boats will have to stay afloat until such times the restrictions are relaxed.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions.

Regards

Rowing to Bembridge

The rowing section made its first crossing to the IOW last Saturday, hauling out at Bembridge where the Sailing Club made us welcome, (see pics) a great row with much banter, 9 crew in 3 boats, hopefully the first of many cross Solent jaunts.

Waiting for the Tide

Attached to this weeks Tidal Diamond is a PDF copy of the Eastern Solent Coastal Partnership newsletter. This has the Summer 2020 Project Update on the sea defence work around Tudor that may be of interest to members.

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world. It is always nice to hear from members, and any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Stay safe.
