Waiting for the Tide

A quiet Tidal Diamond this week, although that isn’t entirely unusual in this less than usual year. I thought I’d include this link that may be of interest though:

https://hmcoastguard.blogspot.com/2020/06/label-your-kit-at-the-coast.html

The focus on kayaks, canoes and paddleboards, but it could be argued a tender may fall into the category too (all be it there should be a LHB sticker on it in our case). To summarise, if your ‘vessel’ manages to go on a journey alone the rescue services could end up searching for the owner on the assumption that they are in trouble. A simple label with contact details allows you to be contacted to check if it has left without you or arrived ashore without you – slightly light hearted wording aside, the difference is quite key. There is a link in the piece to a page where you can get free labels and other resources from the MCA.

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world, even though lockdown has been eased things are far from normal. It is always nice to hear from members, and any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Stay safe.

Useful Links

I thought it worth continuing to include a few useful links here as a handy place to find them if you haven’t already got them bookmarked:
