Waiting for the Tide

We have arrived, somewhat early perhaps, at the quieter end of a season that hasn’t had the best of opportunities to get afloat anyway. News is thin on the ground, particularly with limited social opportunities under the current restrictions. I thought a few items from the RYA might add the the interest of this week’s Tidal Diamond:

The new RYA Racing Rules for 2021 to 2024 are soon to be published, so if this floats your boat here is a link:

https://www.rya.org.uk/newsevents/news/Pages/pre-order-your-copy-of-the-new-racing-rules-of-sailing-2021-2024.aspx

Of practical use to the dinghy sailors out there, this link takes you to an RYA video on “ENTRAPMENT PREVENTION AND RECOVERY – Top Tips for Preventing Entrapment when Dinghy Sailing”:

https://youtu.be/Qo1JMpkQ78A

Finally, of possible interest to inspire the winter jobs to prepare for next season (fingers crossed for a better one), this video is “TOP 5 REASONS FOR CALLING OUT THE RNLI TO BOATERS & How to avoid them with the RNLI”:

https://youtu.be/gHLz4cqe1jg

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address if you feeling isolated and cut off from the world, even though lockdown has been eased things are far from normal. It is always nice to hear from members, and any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Stay safe.

I thought it worth continuing to include a few useful links here as a handy place to find them if you haven’t already got them bookmarked:
