Tidal Diamond 399 – Dinghy Cruise, Bart’s Bash, Cruiser Racing, Summer Ball

Tidal Diamond No. 399

Calling all dinghy sailors with an interest in Day Cruising!

On Sunday 6th July, Tudor SC will undertake a highlight of the club’s sailing calendar – the circumnavigation of Hayling Island. In response to Phil Bryant’s plea and my wish to enjoy this excellent event yet again, I have volunteered to act as cruise ‘marshall’ on this occasion.

If you have made this trip before, then you don’t need any further explanation about the excellent sailing, camaraderie and general uplifting of spirits that this cruise can provide. If you have not – then there is really only one way to find out! And .. if you would like to take part but would rather not do so ‘single handed’ – please turn up anyway as we should have a number of two-handers in the fleet who can accommodate an extra crew!
(Thinking about it – this is a particularly good opportunity for the club’s many Wayfarer sailors to wash the dust off their boats. It would be rather good to show HISC that TSC has a strong Wayfarer section when we pull up in their back yard for lunch!) Please note that we will be accompanied by the club RIB – so any ‘luggage’, lunch boxes, barbecues etc. can be stowed aboard. (A sort of on-the-water sherpa service for TSC members.)

We are scheduled to be on the water at 10.00 following a briefing at 9.45.

Bart’s Bash 21st September 2014

Tudor Sailing Club is delighted and excited to be taking part in Bart’s Bash. The inaugural Bart’s Bash is a sailing race that will be run by sailing clubs all around the world on behalf of the charity, the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation. Each sailing club is sailing an individual Bart’s Bash race at their location (with certain set requirements to meet the world record criteria) on Sunday 21 September 2014.

If you would like to sail at Tudor on September 21st then begin your event registration by accessing the club’s link on the Bart’s Bash website at http://www.bartsbash.co.uk/club/tudor-sailing-club and clicking on the “Sign Up to Sail Here” button.

The event is open to all dinghies and cruisers. Further information on start lines etc. will be published nearer the time.

There is lots of information about the event on the Bart’s Bash website, or contact a member of the sailing committee for more information.
