Cruiser Update September 2013

Just to keep everyone up to date, the 3rd leg of the Forts & Fairways, originally scheduled for the 7th September, is now going to be run on the 28th so that it can take place over a low water (makes the start and finish much easier if there is light wind!). The sign-on sheets will be on the board nearer the date.

Gould Trophy re-run / Lymington cruise:

As the original Gould Trophy race was cancelled due to the poor weather, it is going to be re-run over the weekend of the 14th / 15th September. This gives fairly civilised start times (Sat, 0605 HW with a 0700 start, Sun 1951 HW with a 1300 start) meaning we should be able to get on Town Quay on the Saturday and not have too much problem leaving around lunch time on the Sunday. If you don’t want to race, you can still come along and join us for the afternoon / evening. I will be putting a sheet of the Cruiser notice board for names / numbers for food – Hoping to book the Kings Head, just up from the quay.

Lost Buoyancy Aid

Unfortunately about 4 weeks ago my son, Lloyd Duncan, left his buoyancy aid in the men’s changing rooms. We only noticed that it was missing last night when we were returning to cadets following our holiday. It is a blue/black yak, extra large and has an orange whistle attached to it. It was last seen hanging in the changing rooms but that was about a week ago and is not there now. We had a good look round the club last night but to no avail.

Forts and Fairways

Please note that the final leg of the Forts and Fairways race will be run on the 28/09 with a 1000am start. This change had been made to allow the race to be held over low water. Unfortunately the original date of the 07/09 was still showing on the on line calendar, this has now been removed.
