Bar Volunteers

Can I please ask for some bar volunteers for the bar on Friday 24th May from 18:00.to 22.30. I would like 4 people if possible so we can make two short shifts. I would like to make the shifts 18.00-20.30 and 20.30-22.30 ish. If you can help out please let me know. It is a big weekend for the club and it could help improve our status and possibly our membership. If you can help at all please e mail me wilsontranter or ring me 02392 137038.

Many Thanks

Bar Manager

Cruiser race Saturday 27th April

To all Cruiser Racers, this Saturday, 27th of April, will be the first leg of the three race series around the Forts and Fairways of the Solent. The start will be at 11.30 hours using the ECA start line, HW is 12.58. Please find attached a copy of the variations from the standard sailing instructions for this leg only. A signing on sheet will be displayed on the Cruiser Notice Board from Friday. Please can I ask all Cruisers attending to race to ensure that they have returned a completed “rig declaration form” stating which rig they will be using for “in” and “out” of harbour races. Spare copies of the Sailing Instructions will also be available on the board.

Extension of Fitting Out Period

It was agreed at the last Executive meeting to extend the fitting out period for cruisers and fishing boats to Monday 13th May. This is a “one off”, hopefully not to be repeated, as a result of the prolonged cold weather experienced during the current lay up. If your boat is ready to launch, please do not take unnecessary advantage of this extension as we still have a lot of boats to launch. Please be reminded that “sick boat status” is not granted for work that is part of planned maintenance. Only under exceptional circumstances will sick boat status be granted by for any boats that remaining ashore after the extended deadline.

If you have not already checked your mooring, please make use of the ideal tides this weekend.
