Tidal Diamond No. 318

Deadline for the March Ebb and Flow – this is this Friday 22nd February.

As usual, we need your input to make Ebb and Flow interesting; if you are writing an article (please do), a few photos help to make it even more interesting (and make it easier to adjust it to fit in the space available).

We have appointed a new Editor but are awaiting his acceptance, please send all contributions to ebbnflow and then we can be sure that they get to the right person. Please check that you get an acknowledgment of receipt, to make sure that it has been received.

Membership Renewal

If you have not renewed your club membership, please note that renewals must be completed by 28th February 2013. By popular demand, an additional renewal session at the clubhouse has been fitted in for Friday 22nd February between 8.00 to 10.00 pm

The last opportunity to renew in person will be Wednesday 27th February and renewals must be complete by 28th February 2012.

Renewals taking place after this date mean that you are rejoining the club as a new member and you therefore incur a financial penalty of a joining fee, that’s an additional £150, as well as the inconvenience of having to apply for and/or possibly losing your mooring/compound space, so, please don’t leave your renewal too late.

Any issues or concerns, please contact me as soon as possible. Thanks

Talk Postponed

The talk by David Goldfinch due to take place this Friday evening 22nd February has been postponed to March, exact date to be notified.

Crew Match System
Just a reminder that the Tudor Crew Match system is live on the web site. There are members looking to be matched up for the next two Icicle races so, if you have a double handed dinghy and you fancy a sail, please go to the web site and check out Crewmatch.

Bosun’s Communiqué

Launch weekend is rapidly approaching (23/24th March). Please make every effort to ensure your boat is ready. If it is your intention to stay ashore, please contact Richard Calas or myself so that we can plan accordingly. We have more owners choosing to extend their stay ashore this year for a number of reasons. Please be advised that if it is your intention to stay ashore, then it is your responsibility to arrange your launch (working around club sailing activities) in conjunction with procedures as laid down in club byelaws.

The launch of boats during the lift in weekend is a speedier and safer/preferred method given the support available. Things are not as straight forward when arranging your own launch. (Moving tenders, finding a suitable slot/tidal window, no water babies, no water taxi/tug boat, no road marshals, arranging you own tractor driver, banksman and crew).

Please also begin to think about clearing any rubbish away that has accumulated during the fitting out period. It is not fair that others should have to do this for you.

It’s good to see so many boats anti-fouled. Make the best of the dry weather. We have 4 weekends to go!
