A "dark and stormy" encounter

2 RNSA yachts recently enjoyed "dark and stormy" encounter in mid Atlantic - not of the meteorological type, but of the type to be found in the bar of St Georges Sailing Club, Bermuda. The "dark and stormy" ( dark rum and ginger beer) is Bermuda's signature cocktail and the crews of Cosmic Dancer (Clive Woodman) and Maymio (RobinMartin) couldn't resist partaking of a few when they had a chance meeting in the bar of the St Georges Sailing Club.

You will find it between the green safety boat container and the club house - it is gas powered, so the water will be warm!

You also have to bring your own water.

Instructions for use are attached...

Regates Imperiales – Corsica

RN Team Compete against French and Italian Navies RC(O) Hungry Wheal is leading a team of 10 in racing a 64’ foot classic yacht in the Med against the French and Italian Navies. This is about as swanky as yacht racing gets and a real contrast to the normal Solent regattas. Hot off the press – RN crew have won today’s race! The word on the dock is that there were a few baggy heads in the team after yesterday’s racing was cancelled and the crew.

Royalist MSSC Regatta

RN team 2nd overall after an excellent day's racing A scratch RN crew was put together for this event generously sponsored by Sir Donald Gosling. Racing Beneteau Oceanis 37s was a new experience for all and roller furling, lazy jacks and cruising chutes are unusual on a race course! The Race Committee aspired to run 6 short races in Stokes Bay and despite a very light start, the building breeze co-operated and 6 short windward-leeward races were duly held.

Sigma 38 National Championships

RN team race "Royal Navy Project" in this hard-fought one-design regatta The Sigma 38 Class has undergone something of a renaissance over the past 3 years and with a new group of owners offers some of the closest one-design racing on the Solent. The sad demise of SULTAN’s Gauntlet of Tamar left the RN without a boat to race and instead a yacht was chartered.
