RNSA East Coast Branch Orwell Meet

A popular event, usually on a Club lawn looking down river. This year the river was viewed from the veranda of a private members club with spectacular sunset views 23 members, friends and guests from the RNVR Yacht Club met at Woolverstone on the River Orwell. An event that traditionally used to be held at the Royal Harwich Yacht Club has in recent years has had to look for alternative venues as the Club manages to find reasons why we should not be accommodated.

Friday Race Cancelled – 4 July

Winds of top Force 5 gusting 6 on the wall Forecast suggests increase rather than dropping during the evening, and so race is cancelled as considered unsuitable for smaller boats and short-handed crews. Look forward to seeing you all next week - Ian Bowker

RNSA (P) Late Summer Series – Race 5

With Kurketrekker out of the water addressing a rudder bearing problem it once again defaulted to Tinker T to take on SOOD duties. For a while with a 9 knot SE wind at Gililkicker but decreasing by the minute it looked like flat calm was the likely outcome for the race period. However with ten minutes left to decide the course the SE died and was replaced by a SSW breeze in at a solid 8 knots.
