Dinghy Racing this Weekend, volunteers needed

This Saturday Locks are hosting the wild goose chase which is an interclub event between ourselves, Locks and Langstone Sailing Club. It is looking likely that it will be a pursuit race starting from the Locks club line. Once the details are formalised i will send them out via Webcollect. For this event we still need a patrol boat helm and crew. If you are thinking of taking part then please drop me an email letting me know so that Locks have a idea of the interest in this event.

This Sunday is the fourth race in the Sunday series but for this to go ahead we need a race officer and patrol boat crew. If no one volunteers on Dutyman by Friday then this race will have to be cancelled.

Rowing Race Night

Hi everyone,

We are getting together for our next informal rowing race night at Friendly Friday on August 6th. Fingers crossed for good weather.

For those that are joining us we plan to meet at 6pm for a 6.15pm briefing and be on the water for 6.30pm.

Once we’ve finished racing (around 8pm) we plan to head back to the club house for a jacket potato and a beer.

You are very welcome even if you don’t row. It would be great to see old faces (again … by experience ? ) and new.

The bar is open from 6.30pm as always for friendly Friday and the jackets available from approx 8pm. Bar food and snacks are also available from 6.30pm.

The rowing event is free of charge and the link to Webcollect for the jacket potato with beans and cheese @ £3 per person is below. This does need to be pre ordered please.

If you’ve never rowed before, come and meet us and take a look. We’d love to meet you.

As always any questions please get in touch.

Waiting for the Tide

A couple of notices from QHM that are probably worth being aware of for the coming weekend:

As ever, feel free to drop me an email at this address, it is always nice to hear from members. Any ideas of things to include in the Tidal Diamonds would be most welcome.

Let’s be careful out there.
