Scott Wilkinson (15) from Tenterden and a member of Rye Harbour Sailing Club (RHSC) has beaten off competition from around the World to win the 2017 Topper dinghy World Championships.

EXERCISE DIAMOND ROCK

RAF Regiment exercise to commemorate their formation Ex DIAMOND ROCK. The RAF Regt are set to leave the UK in Sep 17 for a 6 Leg Atlantic crossing exercise, ending in Apr 18. The sailing phase is part of a larger RAF exercise to commemorate the formation of the RAF Regt. There is a DIN published, available via Dii, that provides details of the event, and how to join in.

EXERCISE ARCTIC EXPRESS

High Latitude Exercise HMSTC ADVENTURE returned to Portsmouth Harbour following the very successful conclusion of exercise ARCTIC EXPRESS. This year’s high latitude exercise saw some great sailing around Iceland, but only one excursion into Greenland due to the very thick pack ice. Over 100 personnel deployed across 7 Legs.

RNSA(P) Wednesday Autumn Series Race 2

The forecast of light airs and rain did not bode well for the second race of the Autumn Series, however the optimists prevailed and a short but enjoyable race took place in a reasonable breeze with a hint of sun. Option, the SOOD decided that with the breeze of 5 or 6 knots likely to die off completely a short course with starts combined was in order and set a beat with the tide to Stokes Bay west with a run back to the finish.
