Calais Rally 2019
The Little Ships Club yet again prove great hosts
Another year, another Calais Rally! Some late cancellations following engine, health and work problems resulted in three RNSA boats attending and a two lady shore crew (Vivien Ryser and Val Allwright) via the ferry to join the Little Ship Club, Maldon Little Ship Club and Royal Temple Yacht Club.

Watersports fun for youngsters at Isle of Wight OnBoard Festival in June
Dozens of young boating enthusiasts from sailing clubs around the Isle of Wight are expected to come and take part in next month’s RYA OnBoard Festival 2019 at Seaview Yacht Club, with help from Brading Haven Yacht Club and the Royal Victoria Yacht Club.

Le Crunch (23-24 May 19)
The RN wins the annual team racing competition against the French The 'Le Crunch' regatta is an annual event that sees the Royal Navy and Marine Nationale compete. This year the event was hosted and run by the RYS from Cowes and the format saw 3-boat team racing in J70s. With 4 service personnel per boat, it was great to see 24 sailors out on the water.

RNC-RAYC D-Day Invitation
The Club has very kindly offered an invitation for RNSA members to use their facilities next week. Details below. This is a general notice to all clubs with which we have reciprocal arrangements.
If you are aware of any members planning to visit Portsmouth for the D-Day commemorations next week, please extend our invitation for them to use the RNC&RAYC clubhouse during their visit.

Plymouth to St Peter Port Offshore race 24 May 2019 – Results
The results for all 3 classes in the Plymouth to St Peter Port race are shown in the attached spreadsheet. The St Peter Port race was this year a largely downwind race with the light overnight winds resulting in a number of retirements in the Port Handicap classes. Owners did however enjoy a good reception at the Royal Channel Islands Yacht Club before a brisk sail home.

RNSA(P) Wednesday Summer Series race 1
The weather conditions that Race 1 of the Summer Series offered up were more akin to the final race of the Autumn Series, overcast with a hint of rain and a cool south westerly ranging between 11 and 19 knots. Full foul weather gear was the order of the day. The conditions did not deter the fleet of eleven yachts which gathered at Gilkicker although four of the regulars were missing for a variety of reasons, however it was good to welcome back the J109 of the REYC and also a newcomer, the Prima 38 of Mark Brown.
