Kayaking Safari + Gauging Member Interest

Are you an existing Kayaker or want to give kayaking a go?

Portchester Sailing Club are teaming up with “Believe and Achieve” a company run by Rob and Dawn Piggott, who provide Kayaking Sessions in the Portsmouth Area. They have agreed to run a Kayak safari from at Portchester SC on Sunday 18th August starting at 12:30 on the water which will be a paddle up Fareham Creek and back.  Returning to PSC mid afternoon for refreshments in the bar and a drink or two!

This is a pre-booked event only. No “spare” kayaks will be available on the day. It will sell out so please book as early as possible using the link below.

The event is open all PSC Members and the General Public, however PSC members will get a 15% discount using the code supplied to members by internal email 

Dawn and Rob will provide all the equipment and have single and double kayaks available. They will lead the session

  • Single and Double Kayaks are available.
  • Children between 6-13 need to be in a double kayak with an adult.
  • All participants need to be able to swim 400m
  • If you have you own kayak you can join the session for just £5, please email sailing@portchestersc.org so we have an indication of numbers.

This is an initial date as a trial, if popular we will look to put additional weekend sessions on our program. However we are also looking at setting up regular sessions on Monday evenings.  If you are interested in this please contact:  sailing@portchestersc.org

12th July: Pirate Themed Family Friendly Friday

Ahoy me hearties!   all hands hoay for our Family Friendly Friday Sailing 12 July from 18:30.

This week we have a Pirates theme, so come on down in your pirates clobber as swap your cutlasses for water pistols.

A chance for everyone to get out on the water and have some fun before the school holidays. Hoist your Jolly Rogers and dress up your boats.  Lots of prizes and fun.

Is Dad going the walk the plank and become Shark Bait?

Prizes for the best turned out boat.

The Galley we will be serving Pirate Pizza’s for Cadets from 5.30pm!

Cheese & Tomato or Pepperoni

Plus a Pirate Chest of Gold Chocolate Coins!

RNSA(P) Dinghies James Cup Race 2

Dinghy sailors get afloat for a second evening of races in the James Cup series Three Portsmouth sailors took part in this evening’s racing. All chose to race RNSA owned Fusions from the RN Sailing Centre. Conditions were ideal with Force 3-4 Westerly winds and High water at 2000 allowing racing to take place on a triangular course over the mud just to the west of Whale Island.
