Bucklers Hard extension
£2m redevelopment Work is about to begin on the £2m redevelopment of Buckler’s Hard Yacht Harbour to reconfigure and extend the Beaulieu River marina and improve facilities over the next two winters.
The project will be carried out in two off-season phases, with the first beginning this October and offering improved facilities and a greater number of more convenient walk-ashore berths by March.

Alcohol and sailing
Campaign for sailors The Merchant Shipping Act 1995 states that sailors can be prosecuted if they are under the influence of alcohol and endanger other vessels, structures or people. Most harbour authorities also have local by-laws, which allow boaters to be prosecuted if they are under the influence of alcohol whilst in charge of a vessel.

Sunsail to invest £3.75m in their UK fleet
Port Solent--based firm go for Jeanneaus Sunsail is to add 25 new Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 410s to their existing UK fleet. 15 boats will be delivered in 2020, with a further 10 in 2021.
The boats, known as Sunsail 41.0 yachts, will be available for charters and all major UK sailing events. They will also be used at Sunsail events and school courses.

Charlie O’Malley from Donaghadee Sailing Club was awarded a boat by the John Merricks Sailing Trust and RYA OnBoard partnership and has spent the last six months getting on the water as much as he can.

At the Army Offshore Sailing Centre, Fort Blockhouse The cost of the First Aid Course is £40, which includes the Certificate and a copy of the latest First Aid Manual
