Dear all

You will have seen the emails from Alex, our bar manager, and Janice, Treasurer, about forthcoming events, and that tickets must be booked (and paid for) through Webcollect.

As explained, the pandemic has imposed certain disciplines on us notably the need to forecast and control numbers attending any event. Webcollect permits us to do both through a system of “buying” tickets.

When I say buy, please note that events can be free and where that is the case you “buy” a ticket at £nil each.

To buy tickets on Webcollect you will of course need to log in, and for those of you who haven’t used this facility before, or recently, you may have forgotten your password or login name and so not know how to get in – if so, please email me and I can set the system to send you a password reset email, which will provide you with the link to the login page and permit you to create a new password to remember and use for future events.

Regards

Dear Tudor

Further to Alex’s welcome note with the good news that the bar will reopen at the weekend, I wanted to make you aware of a change to our payment methods to avoid you being disappointed. We have decided that the bar and galley will be cashless operations upon reopening, this is to reduce the risk of fomite transmission for everyone involved.

This means you will need to pay for drinks and snacks using a debit or credit card.

it also means you will need to prepay for any food you have ordered. Please order on Webcollect and ideally select the Online Direct Debit payment method, this will authorise GoCardless to collect the funds from your bank account. You can also pay by credit card or debit card. If you choose to pay by bank transfer, please make sure the corresponding bank transfer has been made before the applicable event.

Many thanks.

Janice Bell

After many months of turbulence and uncertainty, it feels like we may be able to catch a glimpse of what we would regard as normality.

During the past few weeks, I have been working closely with the committee to facilitate a safe way to reopen the bar.
Working within the government guidelines, we feel that we have managed to create a safe environment for everyone to enjoy the club once again.

While there will be some safety measures in place, I genuinely believe that it will be “business as normal”, with a common sense approach, we should all be able to continue to use the bar and enjoy some of the things we have all missed.

I will be sending out some information regarding the additional measures in place shortly, but in the meantime, here are the details of our opening weekend:

Please purchase tickets for whichever event(s) you wish to attend. The quiz is free, but we will require numbers in advance!

Saturday 29th

Midday – Bar opens

14:00 – BBQ

bar open until late

Sunday 30th

14:00 – Bar Opens

17:00 – Quiz

Quiz:

– teams of up to 6/same household to comply with social distancing

– complimentary sausage rolls

– discounted bar snacks and drink promotions

– free entry

Please purchase tickets for the BBQ and quiz via Webcollect:

BBQ

Quiz

If anyone is willing to volunteer on the BBQ, we are still slightly short. Ideally 2/3 people from one household, in order to mitigate the need for masks etc.

please email barmanager@tudorsailing.org.uk to volunteer.

If I may take this opportunity to ask our membership to please help us to stay safe by complying with all measures, and, far more importantl, please support your club, as proceeds from the bar contribuW heavily to keeping the club running, and improving it for everyones benefit.

I look forward to seeing you all next weekend
