Friday Race Cancelled – 4 July
Winds of top Force 5 gusting 6 on the wall Forecast suggests increase rather than dropping during the evening, and so race is cancelled as considered unsuitable for smaller boats and short-handed crews.

High Hopes representing RNSA Portland finishes the Round-the-Island!
Light winds see less than half the entrants complete the course. This year’s race was held in high pressure weather which saw participants topping up on suncream, swimming off boats during the race and retiring in droves with the wind dying in the early afternoon.
As always in these conditions the race was tactically challenging, and required a high level of concentration from all the crew over a longer than usual day.

Friday Evening Series – Race 2
A view from the girls. The second outing was again well attended, with four of the boats from the first there again, joined by two very welcome arrivals to this year’s series, Snow Goose and Hobnob, both of whom have been regulars in the past.
The weather conditions were perfect – a beautiful sunny evening, flat water with a lovely breeze blowing from north of west.
