Shower

There is now a shower fitted at the club so that members can wash off after sailing - it's outside, so remember to bring your trunks!

You will find it between the green safety boat container and the club house - it is gas powered, so the water will be warm!

You also have to bring your own water.

Instructions for use are attached...

Regates Imperiales – Corsica

RN Team Compete against French and Italian Navies RC(O) Hungry Wheal is leading a team of 10 in racing a 64’ foot classic yacht in the Med against the French and Italian Navies. This is about as swanky as yacht racing gets and a real contrast to the normal Solent regattas. Hot off the press – RN crew have won today’s race! The word on the dock is that there were a few baggy heads in the team after yesterday’s racing was cancelled and the crew.

Royalist MSSC Regatta

RN team 2nd overall after an excellent day's racing A scratch RN crew was put together for this event generously sponsored by Sir Donald Gosling. Racing Beneteau Oceanis 37s was a new experience for all and roller furling, lazy jacks and cruising chutes are unusual on a race course! The Race Committee aspired to run 6 short races in Stokes Bay and despite a very light start, the building breeze co-operated and 6 short windward-leeward races were duly held.

The sad demise of SULTAN’s Gauntlet of Tamar left the RN without a boat to race and instead a yacht was chartered.

The Sweden 38 may have been the smallest and oldest yacht in the Atlantic Cup, and the only crew to be competing 2 handed, but there are times when "small is beautiful". With all but one of the other competing yachts in the 40-50 ft range, taking line honours was never a realistic aspiration, but when the final results were announced Clive Woodman was delighted to discover that Cosmic Dancer had won by over 11 and a half hours on corrected time.

When it’s your first time on the water you can, if you want to, go out with a more experienced adult sailor and they will guide you as best they can.

Before each lesson a register will be taken for all those in attendance and then you will talk about the wind direction and the weather for the time you will be on the water so that you can use the information to help you
